Discipline Specific Course: A course, which should compulsorily be studied by a candidate as a core requirement is termed as a Core course. The student will require 106-118 credits for the completion of a 4-year BSc Honours in the Honours School system.
Minor Course: This course can be chosen from a pool of courses. It may be relevant to the major discipline or chosen by the candidate as per the interest to carry forward the subject for additional benefit. The student needs to acquire 40 credits in Minor discipline for the completion of a 4-year BSc Honours in the Honours School system. After attaining 20 credits in a specific minor discipline, the candidate will be awarded a degree in the minor discipline along with the major discipline.
Interdisciplinary Course (IDC): The course may be chosen from a pool of courses offered by various departments. The students have the choice to opt for the subject to learn the importance of other fields in their major discipline. This will allow the student to acquire the knowledge in multidisciplinary domains.
Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC): These courses may be chosen from a pool of courses designed to provide skill-based knowledge and should contain both theory and lab/hands-on/training/fieldwork. The main purpose of these courses is to provide students with life skills in the hands-on mode to increase their employability.
Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC): The Ability Enhancement Courses or Modern Indian Languages are a compulsory part of the program. The students need to study English as a compulsory subject (AEC-1) along with another language offered (AEC-2).
